Course Overview

The OFA Refresher Course is a mandatory training course to re-certify Occupational First Aiders.

Who Should Attend

Individuals who have already attended the OFAC. Must be physically fit and able to render help to another individual during an emergency.

Course Outline

  • Explain the duties and responsibilities of First Aider
  • List the legal requirements under Workplace Safety and Health (First Aid) Regulations (Cap. 354A, Rg 4) Reg. 5 (2) for the workplace
  • Check and pack contents of First Aid Box
  • Apply first aid to accident victims in the workplace
  • Manage a medical emergency at the workplace
  • Manage victims of hazardous chemicals exposure
  • Identify common workplace accidents requiring first aid treatment

Entry Requirements

The Learner should have at least ESS Workplace literacy and numeracy Level 5 or above.

Attendance & Course Completion Requirements

  • Learner must achieve minimum of 75% attendance for entire course, CPR + AED must achieve 100% attendance.
  • Successfully complete (Pass) both the theory and practical assessment.

For Company Sponsored participants, to qualify for SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) Training Grant, registered participants have to be under the direct payroll of the sponsoring organisation. Please be informed that any rejection of training grant due to the participants’ not meeting the requirement, we will have to invoice the rejected training grant amount portion to the sponsoring organisation.

All Singaporeans aged 25 and above can use their $500 SkillsFuture Credit from the government to pay for a wide range of approved skills-related courses. Visit the SkillsFuture Credit website (www.skillsfuture.gov.sg) to choose from the courses available on the Training Exchange course directory.

Practical Performance and Written Test
The participant who passes the course will be deemed competent in rendering first aid treatment to the casualty during an emergency or accident at the workplace.
