Course Overview
This course will be conducted via E-Learning – Synchronous Mode (Video Conferencing using Zoom Video Conferencing Tool).
This competency unit covers the skills and knowledge required by the person in charge of a facility to implement the incident management process during an emergency incident in a process facility. This unit covers the approach, structure, tools, processes, communication methods that can be utilised during an emergency incident.
Who Should Attend
Individuals who play the role of Site Main Controller (SMC) and Site Incident Controller (SIC) of their Company Emergency Response Team (CERT).
Individuals who are currently supervisors or senior technicians from the following sub-sectors:
- Chemical Production
- Oil & Gas Production
- Plant Construction
- Waste Management
- Energy Management
Pre-Requisites
- Possess good knowledge in relevant organisational emergency response plans, procedures, policies and processes.
- Possess good knowledge in emergency response concepts.
- Possess related training or work experience in a process plant.
- Be able to gather information and compile necessary data.
- Have communication skills using various methods and techniques.
- Possess basic knowledge in decision making processes and models.
Course Outline
A competent individual must be able to successfully perform the following:
- Interpret incident management approach and structure to ascertain the scope and severity of the emergency
- Utilise incident management areas and processes to implement emergency response strategies
- Utilise appropriate communication methods when managing an incident to control all internal and external resources
- Control and maintain Incident management process to assess information on status of the emergency
- Undertake post-emergency evaluation and debrief.
Important Information
- Participants are required to have basic knowledge on the use of computer to take part in this E-Learning.
- Participants are also required to have either a personal computer or laptop with camera and audio (microphone & speakers) to take part in this E-Learning.
- E-Learning (Synchronous Mode-Video Conferencing) will be conducted using Zoom Video Conferencing platform.
- System Requirements:
- Minimum OS:
- macOS X with macOS 10.10 or higher
- Windows 7 or higher
- macOS or Windows OS hardware requirements:
- 2.5 GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 or higher desktop CPU (single screen) processor
- 2.8 GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 or higher desktop CPU (dual or triple screen) processor
- Dual-bank RAM for better performance
- During the entire online classroom, except during lunch time and tea break, participants are required to have their camera turned on at all times. This is for verification and audit purposes.
- To minimise disruption to the E-Learning during class, participants are to mute their microphone unless during Q&A or discussion.
- Please be informed that the entire E-Learning will be recorded, and screenshots of the online classroom will be taken for verification and audit purposes.
- Any personal information recorded and collected are strictly only for submission to Skillsfuture Singapore (SSG) and are handled in accordance to PDPA.
Training Grant
For Company Sponsored participants, to qualify for SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) Training Grant, registered participants have to be under the direct payroll of the sponsoring organisation. Please be informed that any rejection of training grant due to the participants’ not meeting the requirement, we will have to invoice the rejected training grant amount portion to the sponsoring organisation.
